Welcome and Opening Workshop with Martin Cisneros
Boost Your Performance, Multiply Your Productivity!

Over the course of his 25-year career, Mr. Cisneros has done EVERY education job possible. In light of this, it's no surprise that his education experiences can be quite comical. In his vision for education, students, teachers, and staff should WANT to be at school rather than HAVE to be at school. Cisneros shares stories, strategies, and practices illustrating how he keeps school high on engagement, fun, laughter, and rigor. If we are able to
increase laughter even by a small amount while they are learning, we will see a deeper understanding of
instruction, and our work! Mr. Cisneros aka TheTechProfe is a great role model for having fun at work and in the classroom!

There  are many types of leaves that you need to be familiar with and address as a Human Resources professional.  Is your department adequately staffed to manage your District's leaves? Does your collective bargaining agreement support your leaves' procedures?  Do you  have the resources to manage your District's leave requests.  These topics will be addressed in Leaves 101 and updates.

Leaders Eat Last, but Breathe First: A Guided Meditation for Leaders
Who is looking after the well-being of the leaders of our districts and schools? As mindfulness and self-care practices are finding their place in education, especially in response to schools re-emerging from the pandemic and the social unrest this past year, leaders need to be comfortable with the benefits of meditation and contemplative practices. This is especially important as school leaders are finding it difficult to lead to their fullest potential because of the unending scope of responsibilities, the break-neck pace of leading schools, and the uncertainty of the future of schools. Meditation and other mindfulness practices can help leaders address issues of burnout, create a more sustainable work-life balance, and find personal growth and fulfillment among the hustle and bustle of leading schools. This session will highlight the research-based challenges school leaders face, provide a deep dive into the practical benefits of meditation as a self-care practice, and offer a simple daily meditation practice that leaders can take away. The session will include a brief guided meditation with a follow up whole group discussion.

ARTICULATE YOUR PURPOSE: We All Need to Define Who We Are
This session will provide an opportunity for leaders to re-connect with or define their purpose. Since March of 2020, we have been trying our best to keep up with the demands of our jobs.  In the whirlwind of the days and weeks, we easily can lose focus on why we got into our profession in the first place. Regardless of the specific reason, that reason can encourage resilience and motivate us to focus on supporting students in achieving success. Intense self-reflection is one path to identifying and or / clarifying our purpose. Using the concept of a Personal User’s Manual, participants will reconnect with or define their purpose. Although we hear about the importance of knowing our purpose, we often don’t put it into words. This is an opportunity to go from the abstract to the concrete.  Join us.
